This is why I hate the Catholic Church
Allright, I've got a great idea, candidates for priesthood are at an alltime low, we have cases of our supposedly celibate Priests having sex with married women, but hey, I have a great idea, lets blame it on the Gays, and ban them! That will fix everything! Even if you once thought you were gay, but 'repented' and 'saw the light' no sir, not in here, God doesn't want you! And if you're openly gay...well...I know someone who's on the fast track to a first degree sunburn...
This makes no sense to me, at all, unless the catholic church has decided to regress back to the Old Testament, where it says to kill homosexuals of any kind. But in that case, priests cannot wear glasses or use a cane either, and those who did and said mass must be killed as well.
What will this accomplish? And what about those priests who are already openly gay? Are they going to throw them out as well, or just say 'you guys got lucky, but from now on..."?

You do know that:
1. It is not one of the official documents from the pope. Just from some office in the Vatican.
2. In fact most of the sex abuse scandals are on kids not that that makes it any better... in fact it is worse b/c married women can make choices and they know that affairs are wrong especially affairs with priests.
3. Out of all the priests in the world only about 1% are involved on the sex scandals (and most are American priests)and some of those were just money making schemes.
4. They were NOT blaming it on the gay priests or banning them from the priesthood.
5. The document said that men that are openly/practicing gays and guys with problems keeping their gay tendencies under control should not be priests. For two main reasons.
A)THe majority of the sex scandals were comitted by GAY priests.
B)Priests are trusted with boys and people who are gay would have a lot more chances for temptation.
You still may not agree with what is said (that is totally ok). But you need to realize that there are a lot of sex scandles in other organizations (some worse than ours). Oh yeah I am not an expert(very far from it)so if you talked to someone who is catholic and knows about this stuff better than I they could explain better.
